Great Things From The Week

Thank you for a great Fire Drill (and singing happy birthday to Roe) - Third grade will get popsicles on Friday at 1:30 by MPR

Great walk with Ms. Hill - She had a lot of complements to share

Kindergarten playground is open!! (TK/Kinder start dismissing from there again, Carlos can put up easy-ups)

Everyone should have a radio now. Please make sure you take your radio to duty and to PE so we can get ahold of you if needed.

From the 100 MILE Club

Happy Friday Everyone! I have great news, we now have TWO scanners to use. I will keep them in Room 8 for now until we get more. I will make sure all the miles get uploaded in a timely manner. (:

If you have students turn in the Wednesday Mile cards, please leave the paper in my box and I will add those miles into their account.

If you have a new student and need a Barcode ID please let me know their first and last name, as well as their Student ID number.

If you did not get a t-shirt please let me know ASAP, and I will make sure you get your t-shirt. If you have a student who ordered BEFORE September 6th and didn't get a t-shirt, please let me know and I will make sure they get their t-shirt.

I will be placing another order on September 28th, so if you or your students would like a t-shirt, please click this link: https://bit.ly/100MileHarrison and share it if you would like.

WHY SEL

For the final week of September's Empathy theme, we are practicing "Social Cues: Tone of Voice, Body Language, & Facial Expressions"

Important points:
  • Teachers are not limited to day or time due to flexibility needs in schedules
  • You may split up the activities throughout the day or days, or follow in a sequential order.
  • Feel free to make a copy and change it as you see fit, or assign it to students on Google Classroom.
  • Please pick/choose and adjust lessons as needed based on developmental level & time.
You can find all PBIS Weekly slides on the Tigers Den Teacher Section

You can find all Empathy videos from class on the Tigers Den SEL Section (for students to play independently)

SAFTEY REMINDER

Students and staff are still catching COVID. If you are exposed you do not have to stay home unless you have systems, but you should test and take precaution.

We have masks, hand sanitizer and wipes available. See Amber the health clerk if you need any PPE. No one is required to wear a mask, but you may, what every you are comfortable with, same applies for all students.

Unvaccinated are still testing weekly using the provided at home test. You may take what you need.

I want you to feel supported and safe, so please communicate needs.

Nuts and Bolts

REPORT CARD INFO LINK

Make sure you let us know what you are teaching, the students should know the objective of the lesson they are learning. They should have Essential Questions that they can answer at the end of the lesson.

Make sure you are aware of the standards you are teaching, AND the rigor of those standards. Do not rely on the curriculum to meet the rigor. I placed an ELA standards progression document in your box.
